Raised to educate and serve
Dr. Rigel Smart was born in Turlock and raised in the Modesto area. Growing up with two local teachers as his parents, he was inspired early in life to help educate and serve his community. These values continue to guide how he practices dentistry today.
After attending Central Valley High School in Ceres, Dr. Smart studied at UC Santa Cruz, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with highest honors in Literature. He then attended the University of the Pacific's Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, an esteemed program where he learned modern dental techniques and patient-centered care.
Now happily back in the Central Valley, Dr. Smart treats patients of all ages with warmth and compassion. He practices conservative dentistry, an approach that prioritizes early prevention of disease while minimizing invasive treatment. His goal is to make every visit comfortable, informative, and empowering, helping his patients take control of their own oral and overall health.
Outside the office, Dr. Smart's favorite hobby is playing the drums, a musical journey he began with lessons right here in Turlock. Beyond music, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, playing board games with friends, and spending time with his many plants and pets.
